Default Anyone here using the Spoon Ventulli Plate ?

How do you like it? Do you feel any difference? Do you kjnow what kind of gains you made at the wheels? I know it says 7 @ midrange, but any losses in the lower rpms or higher rpms, etc?

From what I now it is designed to produce for the B16. I've heard that it Does NOT do very much if anything for a B18C5. Plus it is pretty expensive and there are other things that one could better spend money on than the ventulli plate for the ITR for performance gains.

A&J Racing does not recommend it for the Type R.

I don't know if that rubber chicken makes any power at all most of the Japanese tuners laugh at that item

Not great on the ITR, but a slight improvement on the B16

which brings us to the discussion on port cross sectional area as it relates to rod ratio.

long rod ratio = more piston dwell time at TDC and slower piston speeds for intake charge filling.Great for when you have a very brief time at high rpms but not so great down low rpms. So your port size must correspond to where you want the power to come on along therpm range.

If the B16A benefits from this it suggests that the intake port on a B16a head is too big for the midrange but probably right for the upper rpms. It hints that if you do headwork make sure the porter goes nowhere near that part of the head.

On the b16 you gain a lot of midrange but lose a little up top, it was designed for midrange power.

On the b18 you gain a lot of nothing, you lose a little in the mid, and when VTEC hits you lose a lot.
