Is there a right and left rear brake pad?
I was organizing my extra parts tonight and realized that the little tab that sticks out a couple inches on the piston side pad is on a different location for the two rear sets I have. Is that tab suppose to be on the top or bottom when the pad is on the car? I don't ever remember checking when replacing them a while back, so I thought I should ask just to make sure there isn't a specific direction. Brakes feel fine, but I'm just being cautious.
I tried finding a picture to better describe the tab I'm speaking of, but came up empty handed. It is the little tab that sits on either the top or bottom (side on debate) and is approximately 1.5 inches long.
Thanks all.

I vaguely remember it being on the top inside of the disc for the rear. I think the reasoning is that you want the tab to drag away from the pad as it touches the rotor.
BTW, did you go to that lapping day at BR? I will be at the PR one on 9/7 with my new toy.

Ok, I read through the Helms, and the tab I'm speaking of is a "warning tab". But the manual does not specify whether it should be on the top or bottom.
I checked my car just now, and I have mine on the bottom...

Nope, I have a lapping day tomorrow at PR, and I might sign up for one in September if I find the money. I can't wait to see your subie

The pad with the tab should go on the inside since that one will wear down 10-15% quicker than the outside pad. I don't think it matters whether it is at the top or the bottom.
