??? you would most likely have to strip off the paint to find where it starts and ends, then start chipping away... why would you even want to do this? Buy a new door
or from my other understanding of your post, sounds like the bondo is maybe on your door panels? ACETONE will do the trick, just be sure to clean it up very good after done using it

if your saying you used fiberglass to shave your doors and you want to remove then your screwed . its really not worth the pain in the ***.. your better off just gettin new doors. but if you really want to start with a die grinder and be very very careful to grind the metal .. when you closer down to the door swith to a dremel with a grinding wheel. but fiberglass really is a pain in the *** to remove.
ok lemme clarify, there is this stuff thats like fiberglass bondo, its a body filler just like bondo but its like fiberglass, it dry's like a milky white to gray color aposed to the tanish brown color of regular bond, its made by bondo, fiberglass something or other. and just for the record:
*I DID NOT DO THIS TO MY CAR* and its a realy long story of how it happened,
I already took it all out of the driverside door. its like someone was trying to shave the side mouldings that:
1. had never done anything like that before,
2. sucks big hairy ***** at body work,
3. ok im done.
I used a wire drill piece for the driverside, it worked but took about 3 days to complete, now i was wondering if there was a better way to take it off besides the angering and very hot i might add, manual labor. i love workin on my car but not fixing other peoples f*ck ups.
if you want the whole story of how it got there, along with the ricer sideskirts, and primer paint i would be happy to share the story but for now im not gonna take up any more of your time. BTW, the fiberglass bondo can be found anywhere bondo can, i dond have any because i didnt do it, nor have any part in it being done.
And as far as getting another door, i have a 90 si, and not certain about what other door would match, i can most likely go and pick up some new(junkyard, but new to me) doors really easy, just need to know what models will be the same.
thanks,
<~~John

there is this stuff, they sell at autozone and wal marts.. its call air craft remover. This stuff will remove just about everything except metal. It eats plastic, fiberglass, paint, bondo.. everything including skin so be careful. This should take care of your problem
aircraft remover? so you put it on a aircract and it removes it?
j/p, but really is that the real name of it? and is it a liquid? or. .. . . . anyway, thanks for the input i will check it out.

i've also heard of it being called aircraft stripper too.
and about the doors. you'll have to get a 90-91 door, since the 8383-839's didnt have the seatbelts in the door.

aircraft remover will probably do it. I reccomend Old Dad's paint remover
, you can get it at K-Mart. It hates bondo.....and plastic, paint, hands, feet, eyes in fact it hates everything probably why 3/4 of the can is a warning label.

( DEEP SIGH!! What all these people are telling you is wrong they don't even know that your talking abouut a product that is actually a fiberglass reinforcement filler " duraglass" as its sometimes called ... Its a product similar to bondo but thicker in substance and incorporated are thin short strands of fiberglass hairs... it is and will be harder to sand then bondo but unless you wanna take the chance of ******* your whole door up I dont suggest using ANY solvents to take off the "duraglass"..Especially if u have paint close by cuz it will have all your **** flaking off.. BELIEVE THaT!!! What you need to do is take your dual action or orbital disk sander with some course sandpaper and sand it down little by little... that is the best way of doing things... the right way!!! If u need any more on the 411 tip just holla and please do your research before listening to the first person that opens there mouth( they might just be a knuckle head)- good luck

well, like i said, that was obviously my first option, and i did that on the drivers door, although it took me 3 days to do it, wich is what i was trying to avoid this time around with the passenger side door, but thats prolly what i will end up doing, unless i go buy new doors, wich im thinking about doin now, i can get em for 30 bux each so i think i might do that. thanks for your help guys.

OK first off not all 89's or well in your case 839's
have the seatbelts in the doors only the HF's do so you can use any 89-91 DX or Si door or 90-91 HF doors and they will all work.
As for getting it off I would say the best way would be to sand and grind it all off I dont know if I would try the aircraft remover stuff (even though it worked great taking the paint off of my valve cover) but then again thats what its made for to strongly remove paint and primer I dont know how well it would work on bondo or fiberglass??
