I think 1998 Type R #75 is for sale.

As much as I hate to do it, now is the best time. Its a long story, but basically I want to get back to owning 1 car (and having 1 car payment). I've been paying two car payments for like 10 years now, and in my old age, I'm starting to question it. At any rate, I think the R and the GS-R are going, in favor of something with AWD (I live in snowy Ohio). I'll either be getting an AWD car, or a truck that I can use as a tow vehicle. I still havent decided which route to go.

AWD is nice, I do miss it in the winter. How about a WRX? Or a tuned up, tricked out turbo Eclipse or Talon? I was looking at the prices on those things and they are butt cheap. With a bit of work you could clean up one of those and have a veritable little monster on your hands.

Now who will be my competition in GS next year? Will I have free reign to rack up the victories?

 

 

You'll be in DS next year Paul If I go thru will selling the R and GS-R, I'll more than likely end up with a 2.5RS and run in GS next year. Somebody has to stick around and torment Jim and his Camaro!!

 

Doh, that's right. Actually I'll probably move to CSP eventually when I get around to doing a few minor mods to the car.

The 2.5RS is cool. I had one for 3 years. I can tell ya all about it sometime.

 

Say it aint so!!! Yeah, real life can suck...you know that if you sell it you're going to regret it in about 5 years, and then you'll be that guy who'se always talking about the great car he had but sold and then regretted it. As long as you know that.

Still, some nice stuff in the AWD market...WRX would be good for autoX and track...i say keep the R for the track and get a beater, but that's just me. Good luck whatever you do!

I think Brett may be the first R guy I talked to also...over on twinturbo net. Anyway Brett...I think you may be crazy. Why don't you just sell the GSR and keep the R? I drove my R last year in the winter for the first time, and it was fine with proper tires. You bought the car to drive it, so why not do that!!! Enjoy it, and don't deprive yourself of that. I didn't want to drive mine ever when I first got it for fear of mileage, etc., but now I realize that it's just a car, and i earned the right to own and enjoy it. Sure I'm crazy about maintaining, etc., but I'm not paranoid about it anymore. I'm telling you now...get rid of the other cars...keep the R and drive it. You earned that car, so don't be afraid to use it! One more time...it's just a car, drive it and enjoy it.

I gotta tell ya, you don't need AWD. Just put a good set of winter tires on your R and it will take you anywhere you want to go, just fine! This will be my first winter with my R, but I did seven winters in my '94 GS-R with Blizzaks and the only time I couldn't get out was the snowstorm when none of the AWD SUV's could get out, either.

Keep the R! Just get a set of winter tires. Hey, I know where you can pick up an extra set of ITR wheels...
