Default MPFI & 5-speed tran or D16 upgrade?

I have the parts to do the MPFI, wire harness and ecu too. After that I was planning to do the 4-speed auto to 5-speed Si tranny conversion.

My other option is to sell all this, buy a working, complete d16 swap and install that.

So if you were in my shoes, would you do the MPFI and tranny or the D16??

First off, TY to all who will reply.

If you're going to suggest the engine, which one and what do you think a resonalbe price for that is?

I think it depeds on your goals for what ever engine you decide on. The MPFI swap with an A6 cam and Si tranny should be faster than a same car with just the A6 and Si swapped in it. Some people may argue the reliablity of this D15 with MPFI motor since the bottom end is not designed to be as strong as the A6, but the D15 has a better rod/stroke ratio so it's a give and take situation and it comes down to your decision.

Is this motor supposed to last a long time?
How hard do you plan to drive it and how often?
Is there more future upgrades that you are looking at?

Either engine you decide on is at least 12 years old. I would personally do the MPFI swap and save some money up for another engine as well as a complete rebuild for that "new" engine. The D15 with the MPFI swap will be fun for quite some time! Good upgrade!

For good cheap power do the d16a, I have one with a JRSC, ACT 6 puck cluth with HD pressure plate and a 12 lb and it rips. actually I was thinking of swapping to B-series power. Interested in the complete setup for $2600.00?

I really don't have to much purpose for this engine or my car. I'm aiming for fun and power with the least amount of spending, I'm saving for a b16. Till then I just wanna learn about my car and have some fun. I've done pleanty of work on it as of yet and plan to do all the work myself.

I plan on having the motor for aobut another year.
I drive pretty f*cking hard.
Next major upgrade in the engine bay will be a new motor.

See I'm not sure it'd be good to spend 300-500$ on a d16 when the b16 is less then a year away.

4drEF: Tell me more about your thoughts of the MPFI & A6 cams & si Tran being better then just going upto a D16a6(?)...... Do you think my current engine could handle the aded power?

higher comp ratio with the a6 head you'll be at 9.5-1 stead of the a6s lowly 9.1-1. but really all you need is the a6 cam cuz the heads are the same

How hard is it to change out the cam, anything else that should be replaced at same time?
