EG Thermostat/overheating prob....Advice needed

Default EG Thermostat/overheating prob....Advice needed

OK i just bought this car so the history is unknown to me....93 ex with a b16a2 in it...ever since i got the car the temp gauge rises to HOT very quickly (like 2min)after started...its got a new radiator with 50/50 mix....the fan is working fine and the moter runs strong i havent driven it too far though because im trying to figure out whats up.....it seems the gauge is working fine and that the thermo would be the problem...but im really not sure...any suggestions please TIA...its like 115 here in AZ and my car needs to be COOL....

ttt....search yielded nothing....all i really want is for someone who understands what im saying to agree with me that its porb the thermo

remove the thermostat from the car - if you are still having cooling problems look for collapsed hoses - broken impeller on the water pump...

i say change out the thermo...not expensive and not worth leaving it out..

OK...changed out the thermo...didnt help.....took the thermo completely out and still the same issue....WTF any other opts before i look at the pump.. the only other thing is a rad cap nothing is leaking or anything...oh yeah and i was sqeezing the hoses and i dont feel anything flowing through them...i should be able to right...so it looks as if it may be the pump

Check your Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch.
