Default Tried to install HID's, now headlights are messed up, HELP!

I tried to install my HID's that I got today into my 99 accord. I hate dealing with wires/crap like this. Yes, I know, hid's are a simple install, blah blah blah. Anyways, plugged one HID in on my drivers side, turned it on, and there was a slight spark, so I turned them off right away. Put my stock headlights back in, and now my drivers side light is dim, and my high beams wont turn off. Did I **** up my wire harness? I'm going to have to drive home tonight from work, so hopefully I can get this figured out fast. Thanks.

BTW: it was a 9006 kit, with hella ballasts. Also, does this kit have to hook up to my battery? it didnt come with anything to hook up to it. Sorry for being so illiterate, did a few searches, and thought I was ready to install.

Okay, I checked my fuses, and it was my fuse, so now my stock headlights are at least working. Any ideas what I did wrong with my HID's? Hopefully I didnt mess them up.

Where did the spark come from? Had the lights come on?

Looks like you had a short-circuit somewhere, and it blew a fuse.

you probably reversed the polarity and fucked something up.

here are some pics of it hooked up.

It wont turn on when hooked up like this, and there is nowhere to have a ground or go to my pos. battery terminal.

I bought some 8000K Hanabi's from an HID merchant (i know i know 8000K/Hanabi me, but anyway...) and in the instructions, it had said that I needed to put a bigger fuse (30 amp) in for the the HID's to work.

I had a '90 EF Civic, so for my stock 9006 halogens, I believe they used a 20 amp fuse.

Try increasing the amperage to 30 and it should work. Thats what I had to do.

Also, there was something interesting about how I installed my 8000K Hanabi's.

Because when I first put them in, 30 amp fuse and everything, nothing worked. When I turned on my headlight switch, I noticed wires were smoking by my ballasts, so I quickly shut them off. My first instinct was that wires were reversed. But i thought, "How can the wires be reversed when my stock halogens were working fine?" Then I remembered that I thought I learned somewhere that filament-type bulbs don't require the power to flow in one direction, it can go either way (i think i learned that! lol!) so I get this crazy idea to switch the pos/neg wires on the 9006 socket.

Switched the wires, hooked the HID's back up, and they worked! So then I wondered if the previous owners of my car reversed the wires before, because I did notice that they were cut and re-attached before I even touched them.

So I guess what I'm saying is, if you change the fuse to 30 amp, and still nothing works, maybe your wires to your 9006 socket are reversed.

Mine could have been in the first place since they were cut and put back together.

Hope all that makes sense!
blah blah blah

My kit said I needed 20amp fuses, which my car came stock with. But maybe I'll try 30 amp, seeing as mine dont turn on at all. Thanks.

i would not recommend putting higher amp because it might melt u'r wirings... done it to my car before, and boy i wan't happy

yeah, I probably wouldn't try it either if ur instructions said to keep the 20 amp fuse... Mine said 30, so if anything happened to my car I probably coulda sued or got Hanabi () to pay for damages done to my car...

But when I did have 'em (I totalled my ride in March), they worked just fine and gave me many nights of comfortable driving light.

I hope you get them to work! I'd like to see how they look on ur ride
