Default Sorta OT-- Anyone here running Sparco Speeds?

Sorry if this is off-topic mods, but I wasnt sure where else to post this.
Anyway, I'm planning on purchasing a sparco speed seat(yes, just one for now). BUT, I was wondering how comfortable these seats are. I dont do too much long distance traveling(3 hour drives occasinally), but I want something thats barable for just driving around town and going on short trips.
Anybody have any short/long reviews on sparco speed seats? Thanks in advance for any help.

Unless you are "jdm sized" you will hate them driving anywhere other than going fast on a track with a set of harnesses.

If all you want is a more supportive seat, check into stock ITR seats. If you are doing track days and want a race bucket, sparco evo/evo2's and some of the higher priced Momo (acropolis for one) are going to be the most comfortable, IMO.

I love My EVo2s sooo supportive and easy on the body even for LONG drives (7 hours to gingerman)

See if you can find a race shop close to you - even if its a 2 hr drive - to see how they fit you.

I was actually planning on buying the seat from an idividual who has the seat in phoenix(about a 2.5 hour drive). i just dont want to waste his time or mine if they are really uncomfortable for daily driving, ya know?
thanks for your help so far.

yea, i saw a couple of those on ebay a while back, but that doesnt include, brackets, sliders, or shipping.... i'd be getting the speed for $350 and it comes with brackets, sliders, a harness, and I dont have to pay shipping. i'm still undecided though, i'd definantly like to hear from someone who has first had experince with speeds as seats in their daily driver. thanks to everyone for their help so far.

I have Sparco Sprints in my hatch and have driven up to 2 hrs to events with no real side effects.........Drive it some around town and they are fine. Not as uncomfortable as they look. They give awesome support, made a noticeable difference in my driving.

Being 5'11" and 147 I am very comfy on track in a Sparco REV. THe best advice I can give is to do what I did-sit in the seat for about 20 minutes and then try a different one.Think carefully and even do the test again-then buy the one that fits and feels best.

I just picked up this seat, I'm 6ft 180 lbs. I have to take my wallet and cellphone out of my pockets before I sit in them (daily driving).

You can always unload it on a local ricer, if you can't stand it.

Also, my bracket fitment, left much to be desired...

I just picked up a Sparco Pro 2000 from a guy in Seattle. Got the seat, which seemed almost brand new, as well as the steel side mounts for $400. Man those steel side mounts are heavy. So much for loosing weight over the stock seat (91 Civic Si seat). I will most definitely be picking up a set of the aluminum side mounts.

I bolted the side mounts directly to the floor of my 89 Hatch. I had to cut out 2 sections of the front seat crossmember that is welded to the floor. Also had to cut the carpet. The seat is SO LOW . I had to raise it up one set of holes. At first, I could barely see over the steering wheel. I am not that short either (5'11", 210 lbs, 34" waist). My wife accuses me of having ducks *** disease as well (butt is too close to the ground from legs that are a bit short). I do have a long-ish torso.

As someone else already mentioned, I also have to take out stuff from my pockets, or else things dig in. The seat is that tight. It however does not bind or dig in anywhere with empty pockets. I have to make some minor adjustments to the seat position, as I am just a hair too far from the wheel, and I need a bit more recline. I feel like I'm going to fall out the front of the seat.

I will be campainging the new seat for the 1st time this weekend, as I participate in an Velocity Stage 2 driving school on Saturday, and an autocross on Sunday. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I sat in both the Speed and Ultra from Sparco and preferred the Ultra for its comfier padding and a slightly better fit on me (5'8", 180 lbs).

pics on my homepage of the Ultras.
