B18A motor swap DONE! shitload of pics (56K users grab a snack)...
as some of you may or may not know i am putting a B18A1 (USDM) engine and tranny in my 88 CRX HF. here are some pics and commintary on the swap...
we will start off with the work area:

you always need tunes when your working. got my intercooler sitting and waiting for the next phase of this project...

this is the old motor right before pulling it. its a D16A6 (Si motor) and 'DX' tranny. engine has some miles on it and several turbo miles (with shitty boost control), and the trannys bearings are fucked too (might be why it was in a car at the junkyard :
)

ahh pic of the motor mid pull...btw i pulled the motor all by my self, didnt think anyone would show up friday night to help...

not a clutch expert but i see some pretty colors
there was some good amounts of heat in this clutch. looks suprizingly good for a junkyard clutch that seen boost on may occasions...

pics of my ARIZONA RACE & MACHINE billet engine mounts (btw if your out there listening i could use a Twin-Trac soon
). these are really nice mounts, you cant say no to billet there too sexy, also very solid, you can shake the engine and the whole car will move.

its a PR4/PR3/PM6/PM7....it does it all!!! haha im running some PR4 tune i found. PR4 + FI 160% boost comp, .7 retard, 450s etc (no im not boosted)

the 91 teg "A1" tranny i got from onyx, not too many missing or broken parts :

;D my T3 .63ar exhaust housing that will be going on the B18. not sure what happen to the pic of the rest of it...
anyway thats about it. oh here is the info on my setup:
88 CRX HF
90 B18A1 (USDM)
91 teg A1 tranny
90-93 teg non-ABS axles/inter. shaft
stock header
Greddy SP exhaust
Cold air intake
Zdyne SECU Gold w/450s running PR4 tune
all gay vacuum lines and **** they connect to gone, just what is needed (boost gauge, MAP, FPR, PCV)
**Problems** only one so far: my damn tach doesnt work anymore?
thanks for looking

I noticed you removed the charcoal canister thing too. ls mani has too many vaccum lines going to gay **** I agree. Just make sure to put a vaccum cap thing on it. Nice motor btw.

Looks nice, but WTF is Arizona Race & Machine?
Those look a whole heck of a lot like Hasports, and Hasport is also in AZ, no?

Nice swap
http://www.azracemachine.com/ AZ Race & Machine mounts are NOT made by Hasport or anything like that.
my charcol canister got broken about a year and half ago when we did a ZC swap, didnt feel like replacing it.
i used 90-93 non-VTEC teg upper and lower hoses on a 92-95 one core Civic radiator (forgot to mention that)
the old D16 will get disasembled for my amusment, then probly parted out (you need anything? please PM me)
engine pulles pretty good, think there is a little more there. i dont have a timing light and it needs timed.
Thanks for the comments guys! anyone have any ideas on why may tach dont work?

My gauge cluster didn't work after I did my swap either. Although I didn't know if it worked before or not since I got my car as a shell then I tried my friend's CRX c;uster and it didn't work either. So I just said forget ti and bought an AutoMeter. Still pisses me off though.
lets count the reasons 'the D' is getting the bird:

its also a torqueless wounder (kinda pointless to show a pic of me NOT doing a burnout
). and i forgot to take a pic of the punny little rods.... haha btw im not trying to start a flame war here, i am joking....kinda
there probly wont be any timed runs of this setup, there will be when my turbo **** goes on. and there will probly be some dyno runs posted too. but it might be a month or too kinda just spent all the money i had on this

i am also using these mounts and they are the shiet. Some ppl say these are hasport copies but i dont know. Use the mounts with AZ's modified shift linkage and u will get perfect shifter placement. I luv them!! plus those AZ guys have niiice customer service.

and what wiring? the harness from a Si/EX/HF should fit perfectly, i made zero mods to my harness...well i cleaned it up with some new electrical tape and swapped the ZC dizzy plug for a Si/HF/teg dizzy plug...
