Replacing a bent valve
I've located my bent valve and I need some help on how to replace it. I've been through the manuals I have but I cant find anything on how to get a valve out. What special tools are required, what is the typical cost for a single exhaust valve at the dealership?
The head is currently off the block after a compression test showed cylinder 3 to have 120 psi compression. This came a day after I revved to 9700 so a bent valve was expected. I tipped the head on it's side and did the brake fluid test. One exhaust valve on cylinder 3 dumped all the fluid out. Any help would be appreciated.

get a cheep valve spring compressor, remove the head, compress the spring, remove the retainer keeper, remove spring, retainer and dont loose your keepers, push the valve down from the top and pull out through the bottem. valves for intake are usually around 15-17 and exuast vales are around 20-27
Anyone have a part number for an exhaust valve for a B16A1, I hate asking at the dealership because as soon as you say an engine code they assume you're a super stunna.
to remove the valve you can also take a socket, like 14mm or whatever and place it over the valve and hit it with a hammer. This will release the two retainer clips. and the valve will fall out.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE IF U REALLY HAVE TO ASK HOW TO GET THE VALVE OUT
I SUGGEST JUST SENDING IT TO A PROFESSIONAL DO YOU REALLY WANT TO REASSEMBLE THE HEAD PUT IT BACK ON AND HAVE THE KEEPERS FALL OUT AND DO SOME REAL DAMAGE JUST SEND IT OUT AND HAVE THE WHOLE HEAD REDONE EVEN IF IT IS TO STOCK FORM TRY A PLACE THAT HAS DONE THEM PLENTY OF TIME

Please go back to clubsi and take your full CAPS typing with you. I had to ask tips on doing an engine swap, I've done about 5 since then. I also had to ask questions about turbo'ing a car, which mine is now running beautifully. I'll stick to doing it myself so if it ever happens again to my car or my friends I can replace it for the cost of parts.
EDIT: I'm still in need of a part number, B16A1 Exhaust Valve, it's the same as a 99-00 Civic SI right?

bro i see what hes saying, i mean its not something you really want to play with unless your very secure in your abilty, if you run into any problems and PM me i can defin help, ive done a lot. u might want to look at getting that TCI valve spring compressor tool or something where you can compress the spring. also check the recoil rate on the spring and see if its still within reason. i may have some valves for you. can u PM later in the evening ill check in my tool box.

You can get the part# from Honda by calling and asking for the part number for a 99-00 SI. You can get the correct spring compressor from Snap On, and the adapter tool for the spring compressor you can also purchase from Honda.
One question though. If someone who has done this before is helping you, wouldnt they know what tools to use?

I just found out he was going to help me last night, I just wanted to know about the process so I know what's going on when we start. Thanks for the help, the parts are ordered, and the install is scheduled for Saturday.
If your only changing one valve it would be a lot cheaper to take the head to a shop and get it fixed than buying the tools.Becides the guide could be cracked or it might have moved,it's rare but it could have happened.
