Default Matrix Air Intake good or crappy

I have a 99 ex v-6 i was wondering if a matrix racing air intake is worth the $45 it costs. The site i am looking to buy it off of is matrixracing.com. Or if somebody could tell me some good air intakes- any kind of air intake but im not looking to spend $200 on one.

Peace

I had one before. It worked just as good as the more expensive ones...
Even if it isn't as good it may be a difference of .0000085 HP.

The brand of intake shouldn't matter that much. It's the filter that is important. Get a filter from K&N, or some other company on that level.

the bran dof the intake is just a company trying to make money off of either a pipe, or plastic. for all that matters, you can go to home depot and make one out of some good pvc pipe, and just get a really good filter like k&n. actually, i have a friend that did that, and put a mustang k&n five inch filter on it. it ended up giving the same amount of horsepower as an aem. but, the numbers weren't off of a dyno. personnaly, i like the aem cai, but you know, its all about your budget. just remember, its all about the filter, not the pipe.

Zombie thread...back from the dead!
I was going to ask this same question. The stock air box on my gf's '94 civic ex is cracked and needs to be replaced. I found these "Matrix" intakes for $75 and was wondering if they are worth buying. I know it won't make more horsepower, just need to know if it will fit well, and whether it will fall apart/crack/etc.
