Car is untuned LS/VTEC 2.0 liter hondata s200, have tried fuel pressure adjustments and dist. timing to repair problem but neither fixed it. Have tried unplugging IAC, IAT etc... engine runs worse so I know that they are functioning properly... any suggestions...? Idle surges from 1000 rpm to 2200 rpm constantly any help appreciated. thanks

i've had problems like that in the past. ended up being the TPS sensor even though i thought that would be the last thing possible. i checked the IACV, MAP, Vacuum connections etc. before swapping the TPS.

when i unplugged the IACV the idle would drop from 1200-2500 surge to about 1400-1500 surge so it wasn't as annoying to drive. but of course when i unplugged the IACV the CEL came on. but with everything plugged in there weren't any CEL's. that's the wierd thing. it was the TPS but never got a code for that. you may want to try that if you haven't yet.

 

we actually got it fixed... we disconnected the purge line from that charcoal canister and plugged it. runs perfect.. just dont know the long term effects of it.
