can you reuse the head gasket?
me and my friend did a LS/VTEC we reuse the gasket the previous motor it was on had like 4,000 miles we just use Copper Spray and coated which you could buy at any auto part store it helps alot its a great sealant, is your funds that bad the gasket is like 60$ brand new at Acura or something you don't want to do all that work and it leaks and realize in the end that if u replace the gasket you would of been set but its your call if you choose to re-use it get the copper spray

Why waste all the time and effort.JUST to do it all again.LOL
Buy a new one. Nothing is worth more than the peace of mind.
But you will do what you want anyway. So Good Luck.

alright, I'm not going to re-use it. You convinced me.
As for a new gasket, which one should I use? OEM or something else? The only place I can get the oem gasket is from the dealership and I have a feeling it'll cost an arm and a leg.

sorry, I didn't mean to say "re-use", I meant to say replace... that was a typo.
lol, sorry that lead to some confusion.
Anyway, I don't think I can get an OEM gasket, what other brands are okay?

The only time I can see you not replacing it is if you don't give two ***** about your car...right along the lines of changing you oil every 15000 miles.
It's a metal gasket that permanately deforms when it's used. That plus the fact that it's the most important gasket in the engine AND it takes the most **** means if you care at all about your engine, you should replace it.

Is the motor naturally aspirated? If its a turbo car with a built motor wouldn't chance. 50-60 bucks will seem like nothing if you have to take the whole thing apart again and mess up internals or the head.
