I've used dunlop D60 A2 and I've had no problems with it. I like it a lot actually.

I replaced my stock Michelins with Dunlop D60A2.
I'm actually driving a totally different car with these tires.
Car now has less road noise andhandles like a dream.

I'd recommend it.

Dunlop has recently replaced the D60A2 with a new tire, the SP Sport A2. The Tire Rack has them, but I didn't see them in 205/45/16s. Your next choice might be the Dunlop SP Sport 5000. A few bucks more per tire, but very good in the rain and not too shabby on dry pavement.

If they're still available, Dunlop D60A2. They're fantastic in the dry, rain, snow. They are decently quiet when cruising on the highway. They handle so-so when driving hard...but that's the understandable trade-off. I think I got my second set at Tires Plus for about $60 each last year.

I just ordered 4 205/50/15 SP5000's for my GSR. $395.78 shipped, and a friend of mine has the machines to mount/balence them for free.

So, $400,00 for 4 tires shipped, mounted, and balenced.

Good price?

Aren't stock tires a '96 SE 15's. Anyway, it depends on what you want. If you want them to last a while (over 20K) I have heard good things about the Dunlop SP5000 or the RE730's. Both should be good for 35-40K mile. For higher performance, I can't answer. I actually traded a good bit of performance for Bridgestone RE910 (T speed rated tire) with a treadware rating of 400 - about 60K miles. They were about $80 each. I think they are better than the stock Michelins.

Make sure you know what size rims you have. Do you have 16's or do you have stock 15's?

For 15's, look for size 205/50-15.
