what block to get, sohc in a crx?
ok,we cracked a sleeve in my freinds si crx, from overheating and running boost.450's with vafc, running t25 from talon.
so now we need to know what block we can use, from what year civics and crx's,it would be nice to use a vtec motor and just swap the intake manifold over.
questions are,if we use a 92-95 civic vtec engine, what needs to be done to adapt it over to the crx,i know the driver motor mount is different and the timing cover would have to be cut right?
can we use a crx hf motor, what problems will we run into with compression ratios with usingt he si head.
is our best bet,to just get a civic vtec motor, swap out the intake mani and the motor mount?is there anything else that has to be done for it to work, can we use the crx dizzy with the vtec head?

Just go grab like 3 d15/d16 blocks from the junkyard for like $200. Throw one in and have 2 backups. That is the good thing about D blocks, cheap and all over junkyards.
any d-series block after 92 can be used, i know a guy who did a D16Y8 in his 89 CRX and he said that he used the mount from the 97 that the engine cam out of for the rear mount, everything else bolts up
