Default quick valve adjustment question

let's say i picked 0.008" to do my exhaust valve adjustment and then i followed the steps in the helms manual. now, if i finished a certain cylinder and tightened the lock nut and i want to recheck again, will the 0.008" filler gauge go in with out having to loosen the locknut or not?

If you did it correctly, then after you're done with all the valves, you can recheck every single one of them by sliding the next biggest and the next smallest one to check. For example, let say you did the exhaust valve at .008", when you go back and check it, use .007". The feeler gauge should slide very easily. Next use the .009", the feeler gauge shouldn't fit at all. That way you know only .008" feeler would fit and you know you've done it correctly. This is if you're really really **** and have the time to spare. But since you're doing it already, why not take a lil extra time to make sure it's done right?

so you mean to say that only 0.009" should not go in and ONLY 0.007" OR should 0.007" AND 0.008" go in if i use 0.008"?
