ITR1013 is now dead
2000 PY mint condition...bites the dust. My son just bought the car from me about 3 weeks ago. He's stopped on an exit ramp off the highway (traffic was backed up waiting for the light to change). A lady in a Suburban, on a cell phone, comes barreling toward him. He sees her and knows she's going to plow into him. He braces his head against the headrest and she never even taps the brakes (no skid marks anywhere). Clobbers him and damages three other cars.

These freaking HOUSEWIFE really **** me off every single day on my way to work seeing them weaving on their cell phone!

Even if you son says he is ok, please get him check through and through. Sometimes injuries only surface a few days later.
Even in NYC and NY State, where it is illegal to drive with a cell phone in hand, people still do it regularly.

Really sorry 2 hear about this. Is he ok? I hope so. Are u interested in parting out the car, please let me know, I have a guy in my club looking for the b18c5 and the interior.At least u can make some $ out of this. Or let your insurance know that i am interested in buying the car W/ a salvage title.

sorry to hear, but.... that is the PERFECT scenario to make a hatchcrap from legitimate parts that will outperform the R.

hmm, yeah I guess I missed the part where the ITR was a race-prepped rally car and he was an experienced rally driver with a 5-point, head restraint, and helmet. 
I didn't say he was smart for his technique, I'm just saying it's good that he had the forsight to try and prepare himself for what he thought would protect him. And I would imagine that would help counter the oncoming whiplash. Maybe not.

I had that happened to me too, just not that severe. I was at a red light, car infront goes on green and then for some reason suddenly stops. I slam on the brakes almost hitting the guy in front I look back to see if the car behind me sees that I stopped.
All I saw was the front of an old Buick doing a full nose dive in my rear view mirror and then I just braced for impact.
Luckily It was just a bumper and the skirt under the taillights for me.

actually, you're more susceptible in breaking bones if you brace yourself...you are better being in a relaxed, limp state when you are in an accident...but it is instinct to brace yourself in a situation like this...

actually, you're more susceptible in breaking bones if you brace yourself...you are better being in a relaxed, limp state when you are in an accident...but it is instinct to brace yourself in a situation like this...
