1 lap around the track in my car
Hey
here's some incar footage 89 civic with a d16z6
http://members.rogers.com/buffyarmy/vivek3.WMV
There this weird "bah bah bha" sound....kinda like a rev limiter but its the camera
Heres a pic of the car from that day with its NEW gloss black spray paint job: 2 cans of primer 4 cans of gloss black=$25 canadian. But I ran outta paint for the roof.
The bumper isn't on because I have to take it off to put it on the tow dolly then I just didn't feel like putting it back on as it got really humid to stand still for 2 minutes and put it on...yeah I'm lazy.

well the track is 2hrs away from toronto canada...so its not far but its not exactly next door either.
Some of the paint actually just flaked off a couple of days ago sitting still in the driveway...but hey I'll just spray it again
lol well he's my friend..the taller one in the picture(and video) at the end of the day he was doing pretty good times...which made me happy that I was showing him the line and he was picking up quickly.

Thanks for the replies guys
NINJASPY is right I only use it for the track so it doesn't need any wipers actually, but I just leave the one on as it has rained quite frequently this year. But I should take it off as I can see better without it.

me getting my *** kicked by a rsx
http://www.we-todd-did-racing....3D%3D
theres nothing really special about the car...lots of homedepot parts
I use bilstein suspension with a type-r rear bar and toyo RA1's
Heres the d16z6 powerhouse pushing a massive 115hp
to the ground
Heres the car when I used it on the street and before the $25 paint job...actually looks better in the pic...then in person.

I've only ever done the Pro track on one occasion. We were running on slicks, and I was told by one of the driving instructors from Shannonville, who had driven the car that day, that corner 2 could be taken flat (full throttle). The car was an 86 hatch, front 1/2 tube framed, and 94 GSR motor hanging off the tube frame. We were coming off of 1 at the top of 3rd, and shifting to 4th on the short chute between 1 and 2. He said the turn in and apex would have to be perfect.
1st lap, I was a bit late on the turn in, 2nd lap, missed the apex, 3rd lap, a bit early on turn in, 4th lap looked great, but lost my nerve. 5th lap and all was looking good, turn in - perfect, apex - perfect, but uh-oh, can't hold the line coming off the turn. Lets just say the grass outside of turn 2 is really rough.
I put 2 wheels off the hard stuff, and the car just kept going. I wasn't about to try and pull it in, and was content to just scrub off some speed 'offroad" style. Well the bumps were big enough to launch the car. Coming down I must have landed on something really hard. We knocked a hole in the tranny, bent both front struts right where they inserted into the knuckles (macpherson strut), pushed the tops of the strust into the hood (fabricated top strut mounts, not strong enough, duh!), and ripped the bottom of the fuel tank off (we had welded a sump on there for the high pressure fuel injection pump).
Once I got back on the track, the steering wheel was out by 90 degrees (12 o'clock was at 9 o'clock), and the car turned funny to the right (there was oil and gas all over the left rear). I didn't know until I got back to the pits that I had been spewing oil and gas all over the track on my way back to the north (back straight) pits.
God I miss running on the track. I also really miss Shannonville. I've probably turned about 300 laps there over the years, and my favorite is the full track. I've also run Fabi and Nelson.
Thanks for bringing back some really great memories.
