Default B16 rex suspension problem

I put a b16 into my 90 hf rex. However it drives like crap, the wheel has way too much play in it. I dont think its an alignment problem does anyone have any ideas? Sorry cant really explain much more i havent driven the car in about 9 weeks because i just joined the airforce and got out of bootcamp. The car should be coming to me soon i just remember having this problem before i left and i didnt have any time to fix it.

You mean the steering wheel has too much play? When you're driving or at a stand still?

Yes the steering wheel has too much play (it moves left and right very easily and it moves about half a circle before the wheels turn) while im driving. Its kinda scary when im on the highway and the wheel just keeps turning left and right but the car goes straight.

Take off the cover of the steering wheel and take ( I think) a 19mm socket and tighten the bolt.

BANG, now it's fixed.

Good idea, also check your tie rods, do you have a stock cross-member?

Yep, check those tie rods. Same exact thing happened to a friend of mine...when his B16 swap was completed his tie rods went out. Funny eh. I bought new ones for 12 bucks each with the ball joints, all new.

Don't forget to check BOTH inner AND outer tie rod ends.
And the steering rack itself. HTH
