Internal problems from overheating ?
Would all the problems that would stem from driving a car that overheated be contained in the head ? The block should be relatively unharmed correct ?
Swapping out the head would therefore eliminate all my troubles. Can anyone back me up on this or correct me ?

Usually,But it depends how long it was driven when it was overheating..
If the car was driven "until it would not go any further" it can
cause extensive damage to the cylinders, pistons and rings..
When you pull the head off,Look for scratches and scouring in the cylinders..

It is possible for the inner walls of the cyliners to heat up way too much and start dtonating causing problems with the rings and pistons. You could also heat up enough to cause the cylinders and deck to warp.
