Need Help Only Getting 150 Miles on a full tank of gas!!!
I have a 96 JDM ITR Complete Swap in my G3 Sedan. Running Spoon ECU. Yes I am driving hard however even so I should at least get 200 miles but I am only getting 150 miles off a full tank going into my reserve. Does anyone knows why?
Here is a list of my mod:
96 JDM ITR Complete swap
JDM 4-1 Header
Catco Hi-Flo Cat
Apexi N1 Cat
Apexi V-afc (but i have not messed with any of its settings)
AEM CAI
AEM FPR Setting is at 56psi
AEM Fuelrail
Spoon ECU
Skunk 2 Cam Gears Setting is at 0 degrees
Timing is not advanced either everything is stock.
I have also changed the spark plugs .
Please help this is very frustrating... TIA

Shift at or before 3,500 RPM 90% of the time and you'll travel more miles on a tank of gas.
Here are the results from my R - 28 MPG average.

I have shifted before 3500 and still no result or diff...
As for reomving the V-AFC and Spoon ECU. The V-AFC has not been messed up with at all. IT's all stock settings. As for teh Spoon ecu I don;t have the stock one to even test it out... So is this the cause tho?
Thanks

I have seen VAFC cause 15hp loss with no setting changes.
I would take it out and see.
Sell the spoon ecu and get a regular ecu.

As for teh V-afc Is it even possible to start up the car if teh V-afc is disconnected? I will give it a try to see if there is a change. Thanx
no. you have to take out the entire VAFC harness.
You also realize that the spoon ecu is probably an open loop ecu meaning
that you will get HORRIBLE gas mileage anyway right?

How did you adjust your Fuel Pressure?
I forget how you are supposed to adjust it, but I think you have to close the vacuum line or something.
Can someone please comment some more on that to make sure he adjusted it right?

It means that while cruising the computer doesnt read a/f ratio and try to keep
it stoich. This means that it just runs rich all the time, hence bad mpg

Sounds like you are running rich. Do you smell gas when you get off the car? If you do, then you are running rich. First thing I would do is do what the last guy said, and also check your O2 sensor. If it's bad, you should replace it with a OEM one, not a aftermarket. Also, the FPR might need adjusting. Plus you might want to run back on NGK spark plugs.
