I saw there were 11:1 f20b pistons. Can those be swapped into the f22a1?

you need to know the bore size of each set of pistons.

They are both 85mm.

you have to then check what your compression ratio is gonna be and also make sure you dont have any piston/ valve clearance issues @ tdc.

do you have f20b pistons...if not, then they'll probably cost you more than custom forged pistons....going all motor on the f22 isn't the most productive route...

i would be worried about deck height, wrist pins etc. in others words it may be easier to just ORDER high compression wiseco/raceeng pistons that are made for the f22.

exactly. i might be able to pull 85mm 11:1 pistons from a 88 Saab but, the wrist pin location, valve reliefs, etc. may not be to the same specs as the F22.

I quess I'm used to b-series motors where just about everythng is interchangable. So I guess nobody has tried doing a oem piston swap on a f-series motor to even know if its doable. Maybe I'll just do a h22 swap and forget about the f22.

it would be a huge waste of money more than likely....just getting some f20b pistons would possibly take an act of god....getting just the motor takes some money, so if you wanted to pay over $3000 for that motor and then pull the pistons out, you could do that.....i'd either go f20b, get custom forged pistons that you know will work, or do the h22a swap like you said

for $399 you can get Race Engineering custom wiseco pistons that are stock or .5 mm overbore with wristpins circlips and rings....thats cheaper than ordering pistons from japan that may not fit.
