funky ZC 1/4 mile times?!?
yea i went to the track the other day. i have a sohc ZC with i/h/e in my 88 crx Hf and i ran a 16.4@86 mph with a .659 reaction... i just thought those times were wired or incorrect, i would expect at least 15's?... anybody have thoughts on this?
i think it was 90 degrees, on 15" blacks, with exedy clutch, not sure about the elevation. i think maybe i wasnt launching high enough and letting the clutch out too quickly because i did have some wheel hop. or it could be that that was my 1st track run ever in my car haha.

60 ft time? like stated we need more details.

well those motors have only 7 more hp than a d16a6 which it is no more than a peppier version of.
you also need to take into account a litle of that extra power is from difference in emissions controls and and the ecus accomidate the higher octane japanes gas.
the hf's weight less than a crx si so youd be only about 2-3tenths faster than your average stock crx si cause realistically they run 16.6-16.8.
like others say you will learn better launch and shift techniques but your time seems in the range of what that setup can realistically achieve.

well everyone talks about bothe the A6 & the DOHC ZC being underrated, each engine respectively is rated at 108hp & 130hp, that being the case the ZC has aproximately 20 more hp than the A6 at the flywheel at least. If both motor's are underrated then it could be more potentially. I noticed a difference going from my A6 to the ZC, I think that his time is pretty slow for a ZC being that mine is low 15's (my estimate) based on the cars that I have toyed with while driving.

i have a sohc zc. ran it with just intake and got 16.7....so a 16.4 seems about right, maybe a little slow. i'd probably say you should have been at 16.1 with i/h/e.

This guy is talking about a sohc zc not the dohc version. I think you could do a little better like high 15's if you work on your launch.

haha thanx guys im really gettin sumthin out of this post. yea i think i need to work more on my launch and my 60ft. im running a 91 Si ecu, and no im not using an Hf tranny im usin a 91 Si. and my tire pressure was at 30 if that plays a big role in it. i plan on takin it to the track again next week wednesday so i'll post my new times again, i'll try to eliminate the wheel hop, launch better and see what happens.
. thanx!

oh i dont wanna discourage you from getting the motor man its pretty strong for what it is, more than likely its just me. if it makes u feel better i did beat a 99 civic Si on my last run that day, he ran an 18.5 which seems crazy as hell to me, he dialed 15.2, maybe he just didnt drive good *shrug* but zc is good get one haha.

i have an sohc zc, my quarter mile time is 17 with a 4 speed and si ecu. and that sucks. im gettin an si tranny. and a pg7 or pm7 ecu taht works better for that motor. all i have is an intake. and cut exhaust, stock dx headers that have the cat built inside which blows major *** too. im lookin for soem stock d16 headers. if yall have sonme lemme know i need some opinions too
