Default Ice Box ??

Will you benefit from using an after market intake along with the Ice Box , or does the stock ITR rubber pipe work better ?

What intakes are compatible with the Comptech Ice Box ? And which combination has worked best ?

what do you mean by whatever filter ?, Using the stock rubber hose can't be as efficient as using a smooth pipe .

If you already knew the answer to your own question then what was the point of asking? I also say just use the stock hose, no need to get ripped off by Comptech for their overpriced short ram intake.

it's not a matter of knowing the answer to the ? or not , its basically to see the different setups that people are using. And i'm not only refering to the comptech short arm, im talking about simply replacing the stock hose with something that would flow better.

The Comptech short ram is the only intake I know that is angled properly to place the filter inside the Icebox. I don't know of someone who has been able to use another short ram.

Austin dynoed with the Icebox and stock hose and it beat both the AEM and Injen CAI's for the majority of the powerband. The Mugen intake also uses the stock hose and supposedly dynoed better than everything. Sgt just stuck a K&N filter on the end of his stock hose when he did his 12 second run in the Comp4 championship. I don't think the stock hose is the limiting factor.

you're looking into wrong direction on upping hp.. you already have good intake setup (besides it stock hose takes heat better).. just keep your air filter clean and good to go.

an advantage of the comptech arm is that it has a velocity stack where the filter meets it.

So does the Basic Drop in Filter from Comptech. Which is what you use with the OEM Tube.

What SurferX said, I've never reccomended the Comptech Arm unless you simply want a Shiny intake tube or if you have an SI or GSR With decent mods (Since their OEM piping is more restrictive)

Mike, you ever get those dyno results of the Mugen intake scanned?

Stock hose IS smooth.

On the inside, where it matters.

Mine came with the arm and I like the bling! I say if you have $160 lying around you could put that to better use on another part.
