Comptech Ice box question
Can you use the Comptech Ice box with your stock intake tube? It says on the comptech site that you must use thier high flow intake or at least filter (obviously cause they want to sell them). Basically what I'm asking is can I buy the Ice box, a cone filter and throw that onto my stock intake tube? Thanks in advance!
well im not to familiar with mods. but what does comptech ice box do?

Just an update - I took my AEM off, and did a little cheap CAI. I wanted to be "free to drive in the rain". So I put the stock intake on (minus the resonator), but I extracted the pipe that goes from the stock air box to the resonator (the gray plastic pipe) and stuck that onto the stock airbox. So it's the stock intake plus just the plastic pipe that comes out in the wheel well but not as low as the AEM (plus there's no filter there to absorb water). I am planning on getting a cheap short ram intake, cutting the pipe and attaching the metal pipe to the stock airbox with the set-up mentioned above and maybe a K&N or Comptech filter.

To get a colder intake charge, Comptech makes an intake that uses ice to cool the incoming air. It is sort of like an air/water intercooler but for a non-turbo car. The only downside is that the ice will melt as you drive.

Well....I'm back - I was going to sell the R, but I thought better of it. Justin went out to Indiana, I still talk to him once in a while - he's still got the car out there, but no more Wailing Designs
. I've been trying to make it to an R-Speed meet recently but I been real busy. I will continue to try, although my car will be going in for some upgrades soon....

Thanks - yeah I see that I really wanted to make it up for the NASA Lime Rock day. I wonder what I could do in my R there - it would be totaly different for me though, have to learn a "new line"
