I went by OG Racing when i was down in DC, and sat in all the Sparcos they had out (which was most of them, by my reckoning). The most comfortable for me was the Sparco Evo, and while i've got a few months to decide and hopefully try out OMP and Recaro, I figured i'd tap your brains and see if anyone has good/bad experiences with the seat, and maybe a pic or two. Thanks!

 

Just picked up a set of Sparco Evo2s. I'll let you know how the install goes.. waiting on Mugen rails for the driver side, and I'll probably use the sparco rails on the passenger side. Gonna do the install when I gut it and put the cage in.. very soon.

 

Yeah, i'm planning on putting a rollbar in at the same time as the seat, better safe than sorry (hope i never use it!). I liked the Evo2, oddly enough, but it seemed a little loose...then i saw they had an Evo as a desk chair, and it fit me like a glove. I'm about 6'3" and pretty thin, i particularly liked the leg position (not too pinched, but plenty of support) and the way hit cradled my back.

 

my buddy used it in his 89 EF hatch, now its being installed in my EG, basically if you are over 5.7' in height, anywhere from 140-190lbs you be okay, its well made seat, weight only about 12lbs, easy to get out, hold like a glove on the track and on street its well paded that its not harsh...

defiantly well worth $$$

 

I got an EVO for my R and love it, *but* don't buy the sliders or the seat bracket that come with it. The sliders add about an 1" to the seat height, which stopped me from being able to sit in it with my helmet - I'm 5'11". The bracket is badly designed and makes the seat sit too high. I would modify the factory seat bracket or get one custom made at a speed/weld shop with a emphasis on reducing the seat height. Good luck. -ewan

 

Good advice spiceyrice (i'm a rhymin fool!)....i'll look into various mount options. Does the seat come pre-drilled, or is it all customizable?

Of course, when i get the seat all the details and a ton of pics will be in the mods section of our site (S&M Racing, in my sig if you haven't seen it before). I plan on doing a rollbar (probably autopower) and harness as well before next season...birthday in late october, christmas, etc...see if i can't get some backup from the parents (moms are easy to sell on rollbars, since they imply safety! )
