Default dx cluster into std.... plug and play??

Only asking because I have heard mixed opinions on this....

I have a 91 dx gauge cluster and am installing it into my 91 std (which currently has no tach) Will it just plug right in and work? And if so...will the tach work without any wiring?

I have heard yes and no on this...just wanted to hear some other thoughts on this.

Thanks!

the answer is yes, as long as the years match, I.E. 88 will not fit in 91.

Yup. I just put an SI cluster in my STD.. 90 and 91 are the same, 88 and 89 are the same. can't put an 88/89 in a 90/91.

how about jdm clusters? i heard those need to be rewired, would be sweet to have one in, would,t have to max out the tach at redline.

JDM Si-R Clusters will work with the 90-91 Bezel but you need an electronic VSS for the speedometer to work.

Also I have an 88/89 Si cluster, any one need one. I want $50 + shipping for it.

JDM cluster will ONLY work with rewiring, now EDM cluster is a plug and play deal.
Yes the tach will work fine.

I have to move a couple wires for my JDM cluster to work.
