I have a 2000 Civic Si and the other night my head lights went off. My brights would work, but not my regular beams. I had turning signals, brights, tails, etc.. but no regular lights. I try to turn off my parking lights and it's stuck in that position. So i'm forced to remove the battery cable when I get out of the car so it won't run my battery down.. I'm under warranty with honda so I took it to them, they had it for two days and said since I have an extensive sound system and alarm that it caused my wiring harness to short out and now has a black burn mark on the wiring harness underneath the steering wheel. Honda will not touch it and they recommend a auto electrical shop.. anyone have any experience with the light switch going out or shorting in a 99-00 civic? I'm afraid to hear what the electrical shop will tell me when they discover what's wrong.. maybe it'll just be the light switch! *knocks on wood*.. any suggestions? thanks

 

its nothing big to worry about, i would say worst case something small broke and you pay 50 bucks for parts and labor. dont sweat it

 

a shorted out wiring harness sounds big to me.. i hope you're right though..but electrical problems can be a bitch.. anyone had experience with this? parking lots not going off? bright lights wont stick into position (have to hold it down), no regular beams
