bad piston rings???
Just about every 2000 miles of driving my oil pressure drops dramatically, so i check the oil level and i find out that its below the lower line on the dip stick... i have checked for leaks everywhere and i still havent found any leaks... Does this mean that the piston rings are bad??? When i swapped in my DOHC ZC, i rebuilt it with all new rings, gaskets, bearings and more.. the engine has about 30k miles since the rebuilt... Should i change the piston rings?? or is there another reason why the engine is burning oil??
any help is appreciated...
thanks

try dumping a bit of oil in the cylinder to see if that bumps compression up dramatically. If it does, it's rings. Leak down test will tell you if you have a blown headgasket or leaking valve seals.

a leak down test will only test your compression rings..
If you buring oil and you think its your rings it would be your oil rings.
Or it could be your Valve stem seals.
Or your PCV

what if there's oil on your plugs, does that necessarily mean its your rings? could it be bad spark plug gasket deals?
