Default Question about Carbon Fiber

ok, i have a veeeery silly question about carbon fiber. can it be painted over? i know i'm gonna get a lot of "why would u want to??"'s. sorry, but the reason i'm asking is that i love the vis invader hood for my prelude, but i have my heart set on a certain paint scheme and i need the hood to be painted. thanks for the help!!

Yes, you can paint over it. It looks nice too if its done right. Or if you were lazy you could put a layer of vinyl over it. What color scheme you going for?

the whole car is gonna be black w/ deep orange very fine metal flake in it so it looks like its black until you catch it in the sunlight. and then on the front drivers side corner of the hood and onto that quarterpanel is going to be a dark silver spiderweb trailing to the back of the car w/ a chrome illusion spider in it. so i wanted to make sure that after finally deciding what i wanted to paint it whatever hood i got would work

its a 4th gen. a 1994 vtec. it will be a lot of work but thankfully one of my best friends is a body guy/mechanic and the other is a painter so all i have to pay for is paint. and the pizza and beer of course! but the paint is the easy part. i'm taking the engine all the way down to FL for the work that has to be done to it. talk about a major overhaul. it'll be worth it in the end though!! i'm jsut lucky to have friends who can help with everything

well, before we took it apart it had a light weight JUN flywheel, JUN cams, full headers and exhaust, Weapon R intake, centerforce clutch, MSD, and cross drilled rotars. ( i could have forgoten something but who cares righ?) but that was 6 months ago. its going down to FL to get new pistons, the cylinder walls will get bored out and resleeved, total engine refresher (ie- gaskets and stuff), bigger injectors, and a couple other minor adjustments. oh and a new transmission cause mine is Shot. but the whole point is to get it ready for 30+ lbs of boost in a year when i get the $$ together for the turbo/laptop kit the guy is building for me. its just a darn good thing i dont have to worry about driving the car everyday

before it took the car apart it ran 13.9 in the qtr mile. it was kinda disappointed til we took the engine apart and realized it had some massive buildup goin' on inside and needed some Serious tlc
the guy that's building the system for my car runs his h22a in a civic hatchback w/ 57 (?! OMG!!) lbs. of boost so i'm feelin' pretty confident that after i put the turbo on it it'll do 10's. thats what i'm hoping anyway. but when iget the car back from the engine work it should (i hope) be in the high 12's. we'll see
