96 Accord LX CEL code 90
It's not the gas cap. I was also told it was the "check valve" (honda pulled the exact code). I was told that it is around the evap canister.
My question is... According to the honda parts catalog, the only valves they show are for EGR. And it's just called Valve 1 and Valve 2 pretty much.
It's my girlfriends car and she doesn't want to pay honda $250 for parts/labor.
Are these even the valves I need? Do both need to be replaced?
Thanks in advance

It's amazing how many Honda owners don't know about the 150,000 mile warranty. It makes me wonder if Honda ever notified their customer's about the extended warranty or if the customer's had to figure it out on their own.

no ****!! it's my girlfriends car, and I know I didn't know about it, so that means she definately didn't know about it.
Sad part is... I think her car has more than 150K miles
Thanks for the information.

You have a P1456 (evap leak). A loose cap can set this code. It doesn't matter if it's not loose now. The light will not turn off by itself (well...eventually it will but it takes awhile). Do you have the correct fuel cap? Did you have it tested?
There's a few different valves related to the EVAP system. The 2 way valve and the purge solenoid come to mind. Some of the later Accords also come with a bypass solenoid and a vent shut valve but I honestly don't remember if the '96 came with those valves.
All you need to do is find which one is leaking. The problem is, just because you have a p1456 doesn't automatically mean you have a leaking valve. You cold have a leaking hose, canister, tank seal, etc.
