OT - Detriot People or People who have Lived in Detroit
Yesterday on the way to the airport I got pulled over for making a left turn in a no left turn zone... I saw the sign as I was turning but I figured it was too late as I was in the middle of the intersection, I tired to of course explain this to the nice office with bad attitude but his comment was I couldn’t be patient and go to the light and make a turn, after he said that I figured this was going down hill so I would take my medicine for my simple mistake. When MR. Nice office with the Bad attitude comes back to my car he says since I am an out of town person he has to take my license and to get it back I have to go to the court and place a bond. I tired to explain to him that I need my license to get on the plane and why he could not just fine me, however he just walked off and pulled away. Is this legal? Luckily I remembered that I had my passport on me. I also think he knew what he was going to do before he pulled me as he followed me for about a 1/4 mile and did not turn his lights on until I started to pull into the Hertz lot @ the Airport. Any Clues? I called them and I can send them a payment and get my license back, however I went this morning to the DL office and got a new one. I am also wondering what happens if I never post my bond to get my license back.
Yeah good thing I had my passport, as the court was closed when they gave me the ticket, and I would still be straned in detoirt and paying change fee's and all that lovely stuff.
Welcome to Detroit...
Never had that problem when I lived there. The 1/4 mile tailing is pretty normal around there (if not longer), they always have the plate run before they even pull you over.
