fuel injector flush...$$???
So T,
the pressure flush....is this big money? Money is getting alittle tight with tuition time fastly approaching. If so is there a less expensive route to a similar means? IF not then it just needs to be done. I have never done this and i personally have logged 42K on the car since pruchasing it 2 years ago. Gimme a few suggestions on how i can go about this. I am having my baby put into the shop for some brake work next week.
I will try and make it short. Many months back and about 10K miles ago, my rear brakes started going bad and i needed them replaced before making a short trip out of state so i was near a place.....Precision Tune and figured i would pull in there since it was cold, didnt wanna mess with it, and dont have time to wait at local garage. WEll, the do the job, dick around in my car and overcharge me. Oh well, pissed off but got over it. WEll, earlier this summer (before the foot injury) the rear brakes stated messing up. One of the rear brakes would sieze up, not lock completely but just not release all the way. This would cause excessive massive heat build up and a shimmy while driving and just overall felt like it was slowing me down. Dont know what caused it or how to fix it. So now im stuck going to my local shop to have someone elses problem fixed, or so i think its there problem.I took the car back out to Precision Tune to learn that they do not warrantee there workmanship,
Need alittle help here so i know whats wrong with um. NOT LOOKING TO UPGRADE. So everyone please dont start recomending big brake conversions. I just want my original brakes to function properly. Any help is greatly appriciated.

it's not really critical you do it... I have 93k on my car and have never had a professional flush. Just used teh Redline injector cleaner... although I am hankering for a real injector cleaning. How much do those cost?
Hey Teken, what exactly do you mean by the ATF stuff?
And on the BAAE list somebody brought up using topend cleaner made by Honda... it cleans away the combustion deposits or something... suppose to really help.

WEll, T here is where i stand. I have a few days off next week. I am fairly good with repairs and have done all the mods to my car with the exception of cutting of exhaust bolts but i will be the first to openly admit that i am no pro and i surely dont want to cause more damage tryng to fix something. Yes i would love to attempt it and save some $$ but i dont want to get in over my head. If you have a good walk through i would greatly appriciate it. I also have the Haynes manual which might help as well.
-- If it is what you think it is.....brake piston, then where do i go from there? Can i repair the piston itself or does it need to re rebuilt/replaced?
--If replacement is called for OE necessary or can i get a part from a local grage or parts store?
--If one is bad is there a possibility that both are?
Thanks ahead of time T, i read of your brake troubles a few weeks back and i am now starting to have nightmares about it.

a few other options:
jiffylube does something for $50. don't know much more.
rc engineering does a clean-flow-balance for $24 ea inj plus shipping. this might possibly be the best thing you could do besides getting new injectors, but it means some down time (3 days min?).

thanks. the only caution is that i've heard that sometimes they get backed up and it can take longer. i don't have personal experience with them but there's gotta be someone here who's done this.
I asked the service department at Superior Acura in Overland Park, KS if they recommend that the fuel injectors be cleaned regularly. I was told the injectors don't ever need to be cleaned; in fact, they CAN'T be cleaned.

???
dealers are telling people they don't need things that they need and telling them they need things that they don't.
best bet is to run every statement, answer and price quote you get from dealers by the board here. very frustrating when you know more than the parts dept itself.
