Meguiar's 3 Stage vs. Mother's Clay Bar...or both??? Post Pics Please...
I just picked up a Forest Green '98 GS-R not too long ago and it's shine is really depressing me. I think all it really needs is a good waxing, but I don't know what I should do. What usually produces better results, the Meguiar's 3 Stage or the Mother's Clay Bar. Or is there some combination of the 2 that I should use? I really want the paint to bling like it should...so how should I go about it?
clay bar is the very first step.. then you go through with the meguiars 3 step..
clay will take all the bs out of your paint, then the meguiars paint cleaner (step 1) will take away a lot of minor swirl marks and minor scratches and make your paint perfectly clean.. then u just follow step 2 and step 3 with a buffer.. your paint will look wet for a few days
my paint was badly neglected before i bought the car.. but ive managed to bring back a lot of shine.. here is what she looked like right after the 3 step process.. i had just clayed her a week before so the paint was still good to go..

yeah.. i swear by clay bar..
that and i also HIGHLY reccomend the meguiars step 1 paint cleaner.
that product works EXTREMELY well.. you know when you clean windows you get that squeakiness when they're clean? well the meguiars paint cleaner makes that noise when you rub it off..

No kidding. That looks better than my car that just got out of the paint shop about 3 months ago lol.
This is probably a stupid question but I don't know much about auto paint but would any products out there get rid of orange peel or is wet sanding really the only way? Thanks.

It takes all the crap off your car that washing cant (ie. industrial fallout, sap, composite etc)
I got my kit @ autozone for 15$
And its totally different from wax. It takes the wax & other ish off your car (you do it after you wash it) then you can wax it again

It really does make your paint feel like glass. Takes off overspray too. Actually, takes off anything with some elbow grease

Wow, it really does look and feel better. I didn't think it was possible with my car's F**ked up shell, but it looks good. It makes it's numerous paint/body flaws look less noticable. Good stuff!!

no.. the clar bar just takes the sediments and dirt out of your paint.. it does nothing for swirls or scratches.. but the meguiars paint cleaner works wonders on swirls and light blemishes.

which is better, the mother's clay bar or the meguiar's clay bar?
