Default New build smoking badly?

just put together an ls/vtec turbo in a crx. je 9:1 pistons, eagle rods, turbonetics turbo, je supplied rings, new seals all around. car ran fine. used non-detergent 10w30 breakin oil, changed at 100 miles. car began smoking slightly at 200 miles, and got somewhat worse. changed over to standard 10w30 pennzoil at 500 miles and car now smokes VERY noticably. what would cause this?
thanks,
Jared

Bad oil seal in the turbo, or the rings were not set properly.

Default re: smoke

Was your block overbored or did you oem size pistons? Also, which brand of rings did you use, do you know what the piston to wall clearance JE is running in your motor? Also, when does your motor smoke? On accelleration, decelleration, etc.?
I had a friend that built a poormans typer, use oem size pistons, didnt overbore, and had smole after ~ 500 miles!
Thats where I would start...
Also, if this is Jared from HYBRID, you should email Mattt3t4, he knows his turbos!

stock bore, je rings(came w/ the pistons), piston to wall is whatever the machine shop decided was ok by our chilton manual. motor smokes when pulling out, when driving it hard, but not when cold. oh, and this is Jared from Hybrid, thanks for the info.
