Default An Intake Discussion

Okay you know how sometimes you are up late at night and you come up with some hairbrain idea and then after thinking about it some yo think.... Hmmmm That's no so bad After all.

Well Here is the IDEA. I haven't tried it or even though How to do it just that I wanted some more input on what others thought of it.

Well the Idea is to USE cold air from your AC system and put it into the Intake charge.

Some how route the Air from the AC system into the Intake system to reduce the temp and more dense air etc etc....

What could be the Ill effects of this? Potential Pros and cons???

Either that or Some how use the AC System components to cool the intake charge....

I don't really know but having AC on already robs some power, using that to push cold air into the engine...doesn't that mean they just cancel each other out?

This was covered about 2 years back or so.

In short, you'd get better results by removing your AC system altogether both with reduction in it's weight and parasitic drag.

The gains (minimal if any) from the AC would not be worth the trouble.

Easier to just get a supercharger...

i think you'd get better result with nitrous.. and won't waste a/c.. or better yet turbo. no need for refills.

I was thinking this cause I am a WUSS and don't want to give up my AC. Especially with this Summer's Heat and Humidity LOL

I was just trying to have a performance related reason to keep it since I will keep it any way.

Someone Said it was Covered 2 Years ago? Do you know the thread? Was it all theory or has anyone tried it?

you may want to measure your engine temperature when the A/C is on compared to when it's off...and I don't mean your stock temp gauge.
