vtec now working
Yeah, after 6 months my vtec finally works. Got the swap done at a local shop here, vtec never kicked in. Ive done most of the common troubleshooting, could not get it to work.So i decided to check the wiring today again, this morning, put a new ground wire for the vtec soleniod, let the car warm up, took it for a spin, and bam vtec kicked in at 6k...could hear it a lil but could definently feel it kick in at 6k. So after 6 months of no vtec.... it is now kicking in, and im loving it

Which shop? I bought a B16A auto swap from a shop in Jax for $500 last December. 200-210 compression in all cyls., runs great. By the way, if you want to find out if the VTEC is activating, use a multimeter and go to pin A8 and look for the 12V signal at the VTEC crossover point. Or better yet, install a VTEC activation LED on your dash.

Yeah, I bought the swap($500) from John(owner)at sonik-boom. good people. He even let me pick it up on a Sunday. The hardest part was converting an OBD-0 swap to OBD-1, then putting it in an automatic EG and wiring up a 94 teg TCM(36 wires) for a 96 LS auto tranny. Of course, it's slow as hell with a long geared automatic, but the net cost of the swap was $250 after all the old/leftover parts were sold, so who cares...
I guarantee you it's one-of-a-kind...

I could help you wire it up...
If you're using a PR3, there's no need to spend the money on a RPM switch. Bring the car by my house and we'll troubleshoot with a multimeter, see where the wiring is messed up at...
