Default Preciaion SC67 - Here's the Scoop

In response to an earlier thread, here's the scoop on the SC67. We've never included this part number in any of our literature on T3/T4 Sport Compact turbos. We can build such a beast with a T3 style housing (.63 A/R) and a T04E or T04S cover. However, we usually build these as a PT67, which would be a straight T4 combination with a V-band back end and a "S" cover with a 4" inlet/2.5" outlet. This is a popular combo for the Supra guys.

What kind of power will this support? With proper tuning, the PT67 with the old "P trim" should support about 750-hp at the crank max'd out. If you upgrade to one of the newer GTQ wheels, you're on the verge of 800-hp at the crank. This is with the Precision housings only.

Should you put this on a Honda? We feel that anything under 2.0L won't really have enough exhaust energy to spool this thing, unless you shooting nitrous. If you aren't shooting NOS, we'd typically recommend this on a 3.0L engine and up.

However, one of our dealers was telling me today that he had driven a car that had a T3/T4 version of the PT67 on it and it was putting something like 540-hp at the wheels. They said it didn't spool until about 6,500 rpm, but when it did, it hit harder than anything they had ever experienced. We expect that this turbo with the GTQ wheel would spool quicker.

What does it cost? Typically, the PT67 with a T04S cover retails for $1,150 while the PT67 with the GTQ goes for $1,195.00 -- quite a bit less than what some people thot they were selling for earlier. These are medium frame turbos, which is one reason why the are pricier than the small frame SC series turbos which go for $775. The T3 version would run the same.

Thanks for the info, Rod. So the GTQ wheel is available on a T3/T4 config '67? Or am I misreading something? Thanks!

Frog,
Sorry, The GTQ wheel is only for the T4 housing. Didn't mean to lead you astray.

For a full out race car? It would work pretty well. Depends on what class you're running in, though. We have a lot of different choices.

Good info! It's been a long time since you've been on here. I am impressed by that GTQ wheel I thought the spool would be worse. You did say it would spool QUICKER than a P trim? HMMMMM

This **** gets really confusing. Can you tell me how different this is from my SC61 .70 A/R T04S compressor .81 A/R T housing P trim? I am just curious. Thanks for any help.

-Ryan</TD></TR></TABLE>

SC61 specs inducer=2.416" major=3.227"

PT67 specs inducer=2.620" major=3.310"

That's for the compressor specs, the turbine specs would be the same for the P trim wheel turbine wheel and turbine housing but from what Rod and also speaking to Art before that GTQ wheel is the sh**, bigger wheel than the P but better spool characteristics. Here is what Rod said earlier which was surprising and impressive to me!

"However, one of our dealers was telling me today that he had driven a car that had a T3/T4 version of the PT67 on it and it was putting something like 540-hp at the wheels. They said it didn't spool until about 6,500 rpm, but when it did, it hit harder than anything they had ever experienced. We expect that this turbo with the GTQ wheel would spool quicker."

Also specs for the turbine wheels is as follows

P trim specs exducer=2.544" major=2.922"

Q trim specs exducer=2.693" major=3.111"

GTQ specs=???????????????????? I wanna KNOW! Art and/or Rod?
