Default Grossly Oversized eBay intercooler

I want turbo primarily for the attractive power-to-price ratio, but also because I love the look of a Teg that has a huge FMIC across its mouth.

Anyway, I'm considering going with a T-25 turbo on my LS Integra with stock internals because I don't plan to boost more than 8 psi and I autocross and want quick spool times. People have told me that the T-25 will spool by 2800 rpm and efficiently boost until redline (6800-7100 rpm). When autox'ing I never drop below 3500 rpm.

I've seen this very affordable intercooler on eBay sized at 31" x 6" x 2.75". While it is monstrously long, it isn't that tall or deep. How ridiculous is this intercooler for my plans? How much additional lag will it contribute? This is the only "ricey" motivation I've had for my car... should I just do a reality check and get a Mistu SMIC for half the price or less?

Is this the intercooler you're referring to?

I picked this one for my setup for the exact reasons you said. It has bigger surface area (more surface area means more air), but it's not big beyond the size of the hole in the bumper. Seems pointless to me to have an intercooler bigger than the hole in the bumper.

was that just a mocked up picture or what... I dont see couplers on the cooler inlet and outlet... and I just spoted the stock airbox too.

BTW on the intercooler subject I say go for it... not that oversized that I would think its a problem with causing lag or anything.

you probably won't want an IC with that much internal volume. The more you can reduce the volume of the intake system the snappier the turbo will feel. I just did a non-intercooled setup on mine with only 3 feet of piping and the boost is almost immediate at any rpm above 2500. I am going with something between the DSM SMIC and a giant front mount.

Hey, are you smoking crack?
I don't know how you could spot the stock air box. The connectors are black. Here's a nice engine bay picture for you:

Sorry to hijack.

EDIT: My car is not the topic of this thread. Back to the intercooler topic.
