Did some del sols come with no rear speakers? I noticed the other day that I had no sound coming from the back, so we pulled the panel off to check it out, and there weren't any speakers OR wiring back there. I'm just wondering because the guy I bought the car from was kinda shady.

 

not sure but my 93 si came with 4 speakers

 

The S model did not come with the rears. Not sure about Si and the VTEC definitely did.

 

when i got my s it came with rear speakers. but maybe the previous owner put them in. are the brackets there? just buy some 6.5" speakers from best buy and run the wires up to the audio harness

 

I have a '93 Del Sol s and I found (after some looking) that it did infact have wires for rear speakers but no mounting brakets. I'm currently trying to figure a way of fabricating mounting brackes for 6X8.

The speaker wires come from the harness.

 

all years all models came with 4 speakers. they didn't just put the speaker molding there for fun. i own a 95 S and 93 SI both have four.

did you test fit those rear speakers with the molding? the originals are more oval then round. just so you know.

 

My '93 del Sol SI does not have rear speakers, nor the mounting brackets for them.

not all delsol came with radio so why would they put speaker in them ???????and some had dealer installed options like tweeters in the door panels or cd changer in the trunk. also a/c was a dealer installed option

 

Yeah, My 94 Si Sol has speakers, but my Dads 93 Si, DID NOT.

We bought the brackets for his off ebay and craigslist for about $20 each.

The wiring was there, just down in the well.

Speakers were not standard on either the '93 del Sol S or Si.
I'm not even sure that they were an option on the S...

They were more common starting in '94.

 

ive never heard this come up before in the 5+ years of messing with sols... anyways... my 95 s and 93 si came with them if that helps any

But to add, the speakers we got in my dads car had to be drilled with one hole as it didn't exactly line up the holes. But they were circles, as shown here from Honda...

Has anybody put sub's in the back of their sol's? I put two 10" kicker comps behind my seats but didn't get much bass from them. Any suggestions?

 

You may need a better box or amp??? My Kickers used to whoop *** in the trunk. They were pushed by an Autotek 550.2 amp

93-94 S didn't have rear speakers or brackets 93-94 Si and 94 VTEC had rear speakers, 95-97 all models had rear speakers. If you get the brackets out of a model with rear speakers they bolt right up. Just have to add wire in. IIRC the wiring might be there for the stock speaker connectors.

 

Rear speakers in a del sol is stupid, and useless. Waste of money. When you are at a concert, you do not hear the music from behind you. A properly installed 2 way frontstage, either passive or active, amplified would sound WAY better than the piece of shyt stock, or aftermarket speakers in the front and rear.

Yout totally right, my rear speakers sound like tweakers wtf man! I will pm u on some ideas.

 

Not a problem. I can build some good budget systems, entire systems ranging from $200-thousands of dollars. It all depends on what exactly someone is looking for. The best part, is installs on this car are very easy to do, and not paying a shop to do it will just save money.

Not putting speakers in the rear just allows for more money to be put in the better areas of the system.

 

I just want to say that I have a 1993 Model S that I just put rear speakers into. It had wiring for rear speakers, but not brackets and no speakers were installed by Honda. I had to get the brackets used from a junkyard. It sounds great now.

 

my 94 si had blown speaker in it but it came that way😂🤣😂🤣
