inTEGra Tires:NT-450's; ecsta supra 712's;dunlop sp sport 4000's, what's good?
hey im looking for a set of replacement tires for my 00 integra ls... .i'll still be using the stock rims. My stock michelin tires have NOT WET TRACTION whatsoever... dry traction is aite... i really feel like i cant even take my car out in the rain... i feel like im getting zero traction when its raining... but basically, i just want better tires. so i've decided upon these three:nitto NT-450's; ecsta supra 712's;dunlop sp sport 4000's. i wanted one of these three because they all around 50 bucks each... so which one would be the best for daily driving? or do u guys kno of any other tires around this price that are decent? thanx for reading this.....
Nitto 450's SUCK ***. They wear too fast and aren't all that great.
I've got the Kumho 712's, haven't really had many chances to take them in baaaad rains, but so far so good.
Don't know anything about Dunlop.
I think the Yokohama Parada's are probably pretty good, but I dunno first hand.
Falken tires I've heard are real good, that was the 1st choice, as well as my mechanic's, recommendation, but I got my Kumho's with mounting and balence for only $81/tire, so.....
Good luck!

falken AZENIS is a wicked tire, check them out if you dont drive liek 20k miles a year and want a sticky sun of a beyotch tire.
I have the SP Sport 4000s. They handle very well for an all-season tire. But the problem is that...they're all season tires. You won't get the handling of a summer tire, but it's a lot better than stock nonetheless. They surprise me a lot sometimes.
Looking at what you want, I'd go for the Kumho 712s. But if you get those, you won't be able to handle the MD winter months as you would with the Dunlops...which will most likely lead you to get snow tires.

yea, the Falken Aziens have great reviews. Ask Yoshi, the mod for the itr forum, he has them, or M12, he's usually around too.
at $50, you'll be hard pressed to find something as good as you really want. I know both of these cost more, but I'm going to recommend two tires...
First, if you're really on a tight budget. look at BF Goodrich Touring T/A HR4 tires. H-rated (up to 118mph) excellent treadwar/temperature/traction ratings, and awesome all-season. I had 205/60/R14's on my `91 RS, actually bought a second pair shortly before the car was totalled because I liked them so much. I last saw them for $75 each. Remember, more money can get you longer-lasting tires, so if an extra week's paycheck will allow you to spend a bit more, I'd wait just a little bit.
I'm running Dunlop Sport SP-5000's now, higher speed ratings, yet still all-season and good treadwear. I love them, but they're 90-100 bucks each. Great in wet, haven't tried them on snow yet. The 4000's are probably pretty good, but I'd bet they have a lower treadwear index. The D60 A2's have a great all-season rep too, but they also have a lower treadwear index than the 5000's. I checked Dunlop's website, they have no info on the 4000, or it'd be easier to compare.

I have had NT 450s since I got rid of those crap stocker tires.
I have heard some horror stories on here, but I have experienced none, they are excelent wet tires, and they hold pretty well on the streets.
get ready to change them at about 25-30k miles after purchase though.
and if you don't keep them inflated precisely the inside will wear fast.

For that price, look into Dunlop SP Sport W-10's too, pretty decent grip in both wet and dry, for a pretty good price (like 70 bucks each i think).
(from experience on 94 GSR in N. Carolina
Bridgestone Re730 - Great handling wet and dry, but can be loud
Dunlop SP8000's - Awesome dry handling, very good wet - a GREAT Tire
Dunlop SP4000's (all season)- Very Good all around, but not like the 730 or the 8000 - will do better in snow than the summer tires
Are you planning on running dedicated summer and winter, or do you need one set for all driving? I would be worried about running on summer tires in a Maryland winter (not that they are that bad, but snow and summer tires dont mix well.

aite thanx again guys.... i think im probably going to get some brand of dunlop.. everyone seems 2 suggest something from them...
Dude, save your money and get better tires. You won't regret it. I just replaced my stock mich. tires on my '99 gsr with the dunlop sp5000 asymetrical. They are 10x better in both dry and wet and I heard they can't be beat in snow (can't wait to try them in the snow).
I asked the same question a couple of days ago, if your looking for an all season tire i was told to go for the dunlop sp5000, i'm ordering mine today, about 20 people recommended them, hope this helps...
I went with the Kumho Supra's, and, I love them. Never had any problems yet with them. The Nitto's are nice on dry pavement, but, shitty when its wet. Plus, the Nitto's are loud on the freeway.
So far, my Kumho 712's feel like **** compared to my old Dunlop SP Sport 4000's. The steering wheel feels a lot looser than before...and the tires squeal like pigs. Then again, maybe I should put more mileage on them. That's my experience so far.
NO NITTO!!! The sidewalls are crap.
Kumho's are great in the rain. They really do cut through the water great, especially really heavy rains.
Dunlap just makes good tires. The quality and design are a standard. You can get better handeling tires but overall you can't go wrong with any Dunlap product.
Tires are one of the most important parts of your car and are a safety feature IMO. Get good ones! I too had those crummy Michelins and during the last rain I thought I was going to flat out DIE on the highway. They stick like snot on teflon. I've always been a Pirelli advocate and the Pirelli P7000 SuperSport is a *beautiful* tire in any conditions. They cost more, but you won't ever regret it.
i have the kuhmo's supra 712...i like them very good...also they grip very well under acceleration
I just put the Kumhos on Sat. Thay are soooo much better than the Michilins. Wet traction has improved alot. I have no problems with squeeling around sharp turns. No complaints here!
Wet traction is GREAT with the Kumhos...I'll give it that much. And so far, they stick alright...but they still squeel. They're alright I guess. Steering is still loose. Maybe I should've got the RE730s.
