Painted Rota's On Today
I finally got around to finishing the rest of the wheels, so I could get the tires put on, and get them on the car. Now I just gotta find a place that will powdercoat my OEM wheels so they look brand new again. So these are just temporary till I get the stock wheels back in shape. The color is Dupli-Color's "Desert Tan" for anyone that may wonder.
The "white" specks you see are the metallic flakes in the paint. I only used one can of paint for all the wheels and I probably got a good 4 or 5 coats per wheel. Not to worried though cause they should be off by the time they start chipping.

Thanks for the compliments though.

Damn I already threw the can out. It was that "Truck and Van" stuff I believe. I found it at NAPA. Thats the only place Ive seen it too.
as for prep work, I just cleaned the wheels really well and then used some really fine grit sandpaper. Almost like a scotch pad type grit. I went over the wheels with that real lightly just to scuff them up and then painted.

Well, the good thing is that I'm the only person around here that has bronze wheels. The "JDM" look (if you will) hasnt hit this area yet. All these ricers around here are all still sporting 18" bling. Like one that I talked to the day I was putting them on.
Ricer - Aww dogg, why didnt you get some 18's or 19's y0!
Me - Go away.

I don't know how you feel about shipping your wheels, but this guy does a great job and has ~100 colors. I believe he charges $5.00 per pound of powder used.

I'm with Grandpa. If you're set on white, why not just have the Rotas powder coated and forget about the OEM wheels? Even ~ 3 lbs. per wheel weight savings is better than nothing.
Thanks. Thats how Ive been with them. I cleaned the car up a bit today and put a touch of tire shine on. They look pretty good I guess.
Hell, Even the wife likes them. She hated them when they were black, and I put them on for about 3 days.
