Default aight guys need some o2 help.

Im runnin 1st gen b16 I did search and found alot of usefull information... but here is my delema, Im runnin dcsports headers

Now out off all of my searching nobody has brought up this question... When my car was in the shop and they were doing the o2 sensors the guy said you dont need 2 o2 sensors so Im gonna cut one off and run that wire to the other o2 wire so you will have one...

Well obviously he does not have a clue what he is talking about since everybody on here says I need 2.

Well guys you see were my 1 o2 sensor is at, how do I put another o2 back into the equation and where?

Thanks in advanced.

ps. this picture shoes 2 o2 wires crimped together to be one.

you need to get another 02 bung welded in the same spot as factory(where it goes to 2pipes on the header) i tried to trick the ecu with the o2 thing but you need 2 separate ones just like you heard. or you will have a code.your muffler shop can weld an o2 sens bung in the header for you! if they cant go somewhere that will.

Why does your DC have the O2 on the top of the header? All the aftermarket headers I have seen have them at the part where all the pipes come into one. Is that called the collector?

i would put one just like that on the number 2 runner.

from what i understand and have read... the ecu controls cylinders 1&2 and 3&4 as pairs so taking an o2 reading off of 2 and 3 should work.

man this is confusing so I just cant have that one? so I need to do another one but is that wire for the other one hooked up to the second o2? thats what the shop said they did

And I had a exhaust shop weld that spot for my o2...

okay, where you have your o2 bung right now is in the 3rd runner,
the way the ecu operates, is that it reads o2 from 1 sensor in 2 pairs, so you need to have a sensor in the 3rd runner, and the 2nd runner,

if that doesnt make sense the runner closest to the distro is runner 4, then 3, 2,1 is this a 4-2 header or a 4-1 header,

The best solution is to get a ecu that doesnt look for the 2nd o2 sensor, becuse this 2nd sensor **** ******* sucks. after 2-3 months of that ****, i got a chipped ecu

so thats 2 people for my idea.. well kinda

I don't think a chipped ecu is needed. and with a chipped ecu that won't call for 2nd o2 will also eliminate vtec oil pressure and knock sensor which i think are a good idea to keep.

they arent necessary if you know your motor,

id rather run safe by eliminating the o2 sensor, and not constantly driving under extra rich or extra lean conditions all day long than worry about knock.

first of all the honda knock sensor is ****.
2nd the vtec pressure sensor, the only thing it does is prevent you from hitting vtec if you are low on oil. the solution to that is to maintain your ******* car and make sure you have oil.

i have the zdyne and have never heard any complaints about the knock or vtec pressure switch.
