Modifying Autopower rollcage?
While I'm waiting for an HT member to reply to my message about fitting a G3 Autopower cage into my 5th gen Civic.
I'm wondering if anybody has ever taken a standard DOM 6pt Autopower cage...had it extended so the front supports would pierce through the dash effectively eliminating the fact that the mirrors get a bit blocked off in their default position.
I'm not familiar with the rules and regulations stateside...but here in Canada(eh?) we have to have a front bar outfitted to prevent the dash/motor from flying into the passenger compartment during an accident....
Does anybody have any insight here? Thanks!

the wheelbases are different, so i wouldnt assume it would even come close to a good fit. youll probably have to extend some pieces to make it fit, and by that time, youre MUCH better off having your own rollcage custom built, not good or maybe even acceptable to have a welded joint in the middle of a bar. so unless you call autopower themselves and they say it may work with little modification, then dont even bother thinking about it.
sucks working alone and being the flyweight that I am (145lbs) trying to man handle the mainhoop out of storage...then into the car....
So far....so uh.....bad.
Just as expected from doing a search....although the mainhoop itself fits....the angle in which the rear bars sit on the body is messed.... essentially making the mainhoop NOT fit.
It appears to be only a few degrees off. I will snap some pix to share with everybody later on.
For the time being.....I'm gonna try and fit the front hoop.....Back to sweating it out.....
