Default DOHC

What cylinder heads will fit on a f22a1 block without modification... possibly DOHC or VTEC (SOHC or DOHC) without modification?

What does that come in? Do 90-93 EXRs have DOHC?

I'm pretty sure no 4g Accords came in DOHC...if they did, they're in another country and invisible.

The F22a6 was in the (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm a 5g Accord guy) the 90-93 EX and LX-i's.

f22a6 (140hp) came in all the ex's i believe in 92-93 and all se's. the lx's had the f22a1(125hp). they also had a f22a4(130) in 90-91 .

oh btw. i think their was one guy with a f22ax that did a f22b sohc vtec head. do a search!!!

You can swap the f22b (sohc vtec) - 145hp, head onto an f22a6/1/4 block, or an f22a6/1/4 on any of those 3. The head from an f22a6 will yield minor differences (camshaft mostly), and if you swap, make sure you also swap to the dual stage manifold it has (most of the power diff. is there).

There aren't any DOHC heads that I am aware of that would swap over, no need too either.

F22A6/4/1 is the same damn head, cam and block.. the only thing it has over the F22A1 is the dual runner intake... ditto on the A4.

So the only difference between a6 and a1 is the intake and exhaust manifolds?

Is it possibly only in the states where EX's have the a6 because I am in Canada and have a 1993 EX with a F22a1

dohc f22b head will swap right over along with a dohc f20 head

with some work usdm h23 head fits

f22a6 is 92-93 EX and SE and 1991 SE as well.

pre '92, the EX motor was f22a4

Can you back these statements up?

I'm sure he's talking about the F20B. Not the S2000's F20C

meige: And let me guess, you did all this on your Honda Acura? (see: "1990 accord not holding boost" below this one.)

If any DOHC head (VTEC or non-VTEC) would fit on any F22 block, everyone would be all over that...

Yes, pretty much. The cams may be slightly different, but it's probably not worth it.

The American EX is our Canadian EX-R. The badging levels are just different, that's it. So just to be clear, the Canadian EX-R has the F22A6, the EX and LX have the A1.

American DX - American LX - American EX
Canadian LX - Canadian EX - Canadian EX-R
