Full Spoon exhaust review will have to wait a week or two...
Today's spoon b-pipe installation did not go as planned. I finally got my spoon b-pipe in today. Previous setup was Spoon header, carsound 94006 cat, stock ITR b-pipe, spoon n1 axleback. So finally I get the b-pipe delivered today. I look at the box and it say's "Civic EG6." I kinda knew that the eg6 would fit the dc2 but just wanted to make sure so i call JDMHONDAPARTS just to double check it will fit. They say it will. So I start taking off my stock b-pipe immediatley. Got the stock b pipe off and proceed to install the spoon b-pipe.
Well to my suprise the spoon b-pipe is a few inches too long
So i call mike at IPSracing and he says that the cat i have is too long and that it is made to fit the spoon header and stock b-pipe together, not the spoon header and spoon b-pipe
. Thanks for the bad news Mike
So Mike says he can have a cat made for me or I can cut the spoon b-pipe. Cut my spoon b-pipe NEVER! So i go ahead and order the new cat, but it has to be made and should be about 10-12 business days before i can get it.
So since i have the stock b-pipe and axleback off. I just have the header and cat bolted up right now. So i decide to have a little fun and see what its like to run open header and cat. OMG! That is ridiculous
. It sounds crazy! Btw i live out in the boonies and there is no one around to bother. I just gotta say it was fun but there was alot of vibration and alot of NOISE haha. I just drove it around for about 5-6 minutes and now i gotta go throw the stock b-pipe back on till i get my new cat.
So all you guys that wanted to have a review about the full spoon exhaust will just have to wait a few days.
BTW I know running open header is nothing new to you guys, but it is to me and i just wanted to share my experience.

looking forward to your review.
btw, how does the b-pipe look? i hear that the piece is very well made. i'm sure it's not a question as to how it performs, more like a question of when.
kepani - who says be careful.

Yes well i know that now. hehe. I thought spoon b-pipe would be the same length as the stock but i guess i thought wrong. Mike let me know what the problem was so i now ordered a new cat from him.

It is stock length... it was made for the JDM DC2 Type R. The JDM DC2 Type R has a longer b pipe than USDM, probably the same length as our GS-R's b pipe, but I can't confirm that.
Unfortunately, not many knew about this. Fujitsubo's RM-01A had the same problem, I thought I had all the right pieces to install, turned out I needed a much shorter cat.

Looks nice, what is the size of the piping on this spoon b-pipe or the diameter where the cat meets it and muffler. Any bottlenecks?

So if you know mike is the shizznit, why didnt you order it through him
I guess it takes people a few times to realize that there is more buying something than who has the lowest price. but I dont know what the situation is though for you, and why you ordered it from JHP
Dynolabs in san ramon can get your car dyno'd. frank the tuner there has ALOT of tuning experience with hondas. he is a full hondata tuner too.
925.831.8240
175 for tuning and 110 or 100ish for an hour on the dyno with wideband
but call to confirm pricing.

THanks for the dyno info. I will get it tuned there.

I haven't been keeping on top of the B-pipe updates, but does Spoon still use a stock-sized donut for the B-pipe -> muffler connection (in other words, can this B-pipe bolt to a stock ITR muffler)?

Does it neck down to the 2" OD to fit the stock axle back?
One thing you may want to check, if this is for a JDM length Civic it might be even 2" longer than the GSR Bpipe since the Civics have a 1.9" longer wheelbase than the Integra. If that's the case you may need a 10" cat which you'll be out of luck with. You really need to remove the cat and install the B pipe and get the exact measurement for Mike.

Ok well i will measure tomorrow. This b-pipe is for a civic eg6. same length as the JDM DC2R. so a 12 inch cat should work fine. but will measure to make sure. Thanks Dave.

All Spoon B pipes are designed with flanges that will allow you to add it into an OEM system.
The Length of a USDM 92-95 Civic Hatch's B Pipe is the same exact length as the USDM Integras. The JDM & USDM Civic Hatches from 92-95 (EG6) Should also be the same.
Spoon Sports has a seperate part # for the DC2 vs the EG6 (DC2 in the # instead of EG6)
So one of 2 things.
1) JHP put a DC2 Model B Pipe in an EG6 Box
2) JHP Sent you the wrong one (Sent EG6 not DC2)
Now if it is #1 the length of the cat will be 12", If It is #2 and its an EG6 pipe BUT not the US Length, then Dave might be right about it being a little longer than a JDM DC2, But I believe it should be the same.
In Any case I would call up JHP and ask them why they sent you an EG6 B pipe.
