I bought a CF hood for my 97 lude but it has blue sides. My car is red so im shure you can think how ugly it would be. Anyone have any ideas to get paint off the hood without messing the finish up. Or should i just paint the sides black?

 

try some paint thinner, but dont use an excessive amount b/c i dont kno what it does to cf....take your time. thats all i can tell ya

 

Most likely you will have to strip the clear coat off the entire hood and reclear it if you want it to look back to normal.

, ur also gonna have to use like 3 coats of clear to make it look like its supposed 2 , if i were u.. i'd get rid of his blue, then paint the sides red.. prob be ur best bet

that's what I would do. I don't like the CF look on red.

 

Paint your car the same shade blue...
I'd choose blue over red anyday
