Who knows cams?
Ok, quick over view. A 90 hatch std, used for daily driving and week end autox/ road race. A mini me swap consisting of a SI 5spd tranny, SI ECU, SI distributor, wire harness plugs, injector box, FPR . Also a D16Y8 intake manifold set up w/ (88-91) SI injectors and fuel rail, port matched and mated to a GSR TB. Head is from a D16Y7. The head w/ a d16 z6/y8 head gasket raises the compression to a 10:1.
I'm sending the Y7 cam off to Crower for a cam grind.
I've been given 2 sugestions so far :-
1. 265 duration w/ 10.44 mm lift
2. 268 duration w/ 10.5 mm lift
I'm looking for an other suggestions for the cam specs or your opinion of the ones mentioned.
Thanks-Jason

why are you wasting all that money on a single cam....by the time you get done with it you could have bought a b16 with LSD tranny!!! and been that much further ahead of the game!!

thanks Wil you beat me too it.
The D16 can be very competive in autocrossing and in Drag. It takes more money but as long as your happy with wrenching on it. IM Wil and check out exospeed.com.
They have some nice grinds for mild cams. Also options are crower or crane. Zex is sorta quesitonable.
good luck on the build. SohC po000wa!

Um,before you tell me i'm spending too much money, why don't you find out how much i've spent? Acually the total cost of the set up is less then $300 , parts were collected through trades and friends w/ extra parts. With the exception of the Cam which is going to cost $80. The head was free , the y8 manifold and gsr TB i paid $100 0r less for. I port matched and polished the manifold my self. The rest of the parts a buddy of mine is giving me for $100 5spd tranny,si ecu,si distributor, injector box. All the work will be done by me and friends. So to me, i haven't spent much of anything. There may be a B16 in the future ,but right now i'm having too much fun just building my D-series motor.
