Valve Cover Colors?
I think I want to change the color of my valve cover... Not to add to the "bling" factor, but to make the built B18C stand out from the otherwise monochrome scheme of the car... The car is Milano Red, and so was the valve cover... All of the other accessories (pullies, strut bars, etc. are aluminum), and the block will be nice and clean, and I just don't want to toss on my dirty red valve cover after the build, ya know? Any suggestions on a good color? I've been thinking about Spoon yellow, and maybe gloss black, but I dunno... I just don't want it red anymore...
colors i recommend:
-standard red (like the b18c5, f20c, c32 valve covers)
-that light blue color(found on the h22a-s motor)
-spoon yellow is awesome too and would contrast nicely with your red paint

I would reccomend against that, unless you plan on cleaning it every single day. But it would indeed look tight.
Yellow would be tight... maybe blue?

i was honestly going to do that! but i realized it would be a bitch and if it was greasy i'd have a fit.
so i just went with a laser cut red type-s valve cover wo0t

i dug up some pics of my friends crazy colored lude from when we drove to englishtown last summer.
it was beautiful. he ran a 13.8. i believe that was his best run at 8psi and with full system in the trunk.
the car has since been stolen by the shop that built it
but, some pics...

thats exactly what i did to mine, and i love it. matches the car and everything else in the engine bay a lot better than the black did.
i only have a pic of it in black and white but you get the point....

here's another good idea:
-strip the paint off with KS-3 Premium Stripper
-between each application of the stripper, use After Wash for Paint Remover
-once you fully remove all paint, use Aluminum Brightener
-apply the aluminum brightener with a sponge back & forth in one direction.
-sand the lettering if you'd like
-apply several coats of dupli-color engine enamal clear coat.
-i recommend 3 to 4 coats 10 min apart.
the result is beautiful. i saw it in person on my friends b16 and all i could say was WOW. i'll try and dig up a pic.
