The D16y8 is complete...axels on up, harness,ecu...everything. Will there be any trouble areas for me to look for? I've never done a swap, so should I leave it to my mechanic or do it myself? Also, I did search and whats the diff btween ObII and OBI? Thanks for the help and I did search some. Peace!

 

Basically,
OBDII = PITA
OBDI = AHHHH much less worry.

DIY. Don't pay someone to swap it.

 

To change to OBI what do I do? Change the ecu? Or is it much more complicated? This is my lil plan. I wanna do a lil Dpower motor. I wanna mild cam,cam gear, i/h/e, v-afc, and thats about it. I heard that the OBII does not respond well to "mods" is this true? Any help will be great! Thanks again Spade! I hear your one of the "D" experts...true? Peace!

 

to run obd1 you can use your original harness and change alternator,injectors with obd1 also distributor

there you go! remove the engine harness from your d16y8 and replace it with the one you have from your 93dx hatch (obd1)... change alternators to obd1, injectors to obd1, and distributor to obd 1...
